Indiect Hot Water Heater
Indirect hot water heaters utilize your home boiler heating system to produce hot water for your home. There is no need for another gas consuming appliance like a standard gas hot water heater. This means lower fuel bills and more hot water because of the fast heat recovery that a boiler can produce.

The boiler pictured below, located in Tonawanda, was 18 years old and needed some repairs to the pilot/ignition system. Even though the parts could have been replaced to make this boiler operate, it made more sense to replace the boiler. The customer realized that they would be paying repair bills on a regular basis, plus this boiler couldn't be depended on anymore, so it made good sense to replace it now to insure their family stayed warm and comfortable this winter.

We installed these two furnaces in a South Buffalo home that had been split into upper and lower apartments. There is still a lot of ductwork changes, new cold air returns, that we will be returning to do in the spring, which will allow these apartments to cool properly when air conditioning is added.
A lot of older homes were built with oversized furnaces and not enough cold air returns for air conditioning to work properly. If you are thinking of adding air conditioning to an existing furnace, always make sure that the issue of cold air returns is addressed.

Sullivan Heating & Cooling had to do this replacement in a hurry because the new tenants, at this Amherst apartment complex, where moving in the same day we installed their new furnace and hot water tank. Installed this Bryant Furnace in a home in the South Cheektowaga area. The old one had a bad control board and it made better sense to replace the furnace instead of making a costly repair and still having an old inefficient furnace that could break down again at any time.

Sullivan Heating & Cooling installed the natural gas, vent free fireplace pictured below in an Orchard Park home. This fireplace can be operated by a remote control and has some additional gold colored trim that the owners wanted to polish and install themselves. As you can see in the second picture, a gas line had to be added from the basement through a small one inch hole that we had to drill through the floor. Due to this being a vent free style fireplace, no additional flue exaust or chimney piping was necessary, which made this an affordable, energy smart and decorative improvement to their home.

This old furnace, in South Buffalo, was a top of the line model in its day but do to a cracked heat exchanger it was time to have it replaced. The old furnace was 125,000 btu and heating a lower apartment of 1,050 square feet. This furnace was heating the whole house years ago before a second furnace was added and it was split into upper and lower apartments. Sullivan Heating & Cooling installed a 70,000 btu Bryant Furnace that will use almost half the amount of gas that the old furnace used to heat this lower apartment.

Luckily no one at this Orchard Park home was injured because this boiler was on the verge of starting a fire. If your old boiler is starting to look like this one, you may want to have it looked at as soon as possible.

This A.O Smith 40 Gallon Hot Water Tank, replaced a 12 year old tank that had ruptured due to mineral deposits that had accumulated over the years, inside the bottom of the tank. Luckly in the basement (of this North Buffalo home) were the tank was located, there was a working floor drain and very minimal property damage.
If you don't already, you should have your Hot Water Tank drained once yearly to remove mineral deposits and prolong the life of the tank.

Sullivan Heating and Cooling recently added air conditiong to an existing furnace in the West Seneca area. As you can see in the picture there wasn't a lot of space so we used a compact sized outside unit to allow enough airflow for proper operation.
If you keep the area around your outside air conditioning unit clear, air will flow properly through the unit and this will help reduce your electric bill during those hot summer months.
